Job Summary:

The Systems Diagnostics team develops, designs, implements, and tests embedded control system input/output (IO) processing and on-board diagnostics software in embedded controls on Cat products. Our team includes systems engineering, software development and delivery, and validation testing. This specific role is primarily in the software development space. Our software is developed by creating common blocks in MATLAB/Simulink and implemented using instances of these blocks configured for each IO pin on each application. We use AUTOSAR to integrate with the other layers of software in the flash file. The software developer works closely with the systems engineer developing application specific IO and on-board diagnostic software.

What You Will Do:

• Direct and participate in the design and development of new product concepts and complex Software Engineering projects for release to production in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability.

• Gathering and analyzing user/client requirements to create the software requirements specification (SRS) document.
• Writing and implementing embedded model-based software and enhancing code samples of existing systems.
• Testing and debugging embedded system software using different tools/methods available to improve code quality and optimize system performance.
• Collaborating with other teams to provide post production support.

• Key skills for this role include MATLAB/Simulink Embedded Software development, Git and Ivy, AUTOSAR, and real-time operating systems used in embedded controls.

Education Requirement:

• Requires a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent engineering curriculum.

What Skills You Will Have:

Software Product Design/Architecture:
• Experience in MATLAB/Simulink, AUTOSAR, and real-time operating systems

• Embedded software development experience

• Experience with Git Ivy configuration management

• Knowledge and experience working with embedded control systems such as transmission controls, engine controls, and other machine controls.

• Demonstrates experience with the architecture and design of major or multiple products.
• Describes major software architecture alternatives and considerations.
• Facilitates design reviews and walkthroughs.
• Analyzes benefits and drawbacks of specific software designs and architecture.

Additional Information

The location for this position is Mossville, IL.

Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

This position will require less than 20% travel.
