This position will primarily function as a liaison between the Information Technology Department, and 3rd party vendors, with regard to computer, electronic and other similar business systems. Through the management and support of the Information systems, the position will provide actionable assessments and will be an integral part of the IT team.
The Information Systems (IT) Analyst consults with IT functional leads and project teams to better understand business challenges,?help define and gather business requirements, and recommend solutions that improve business processes and IT workflows. The Information Systems Analyst champions change management practices and leads the tactical execution of IT configuration, testing, and implementation activities for HR projects.
The Information Systems Analyst will play a key role in the City's Workday IT implementation (with a target launch date of September 2024).DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will perform the following duties:
- Monitors the day-to-day operations of the City's enterprise-level software systems with a focus on the Financial/HR enterprise system.
- Act as a liaison between the Human Resources department, Finance department and Information Technology (which may include 3rd party vendors) to ensure the assigned department's project needs are being communicated effectively and are on schedule.
- Participate in implementation and enhancements of HR/Financial systems.
- Actively participate in the City's Workday Change Control Committee which plans for and coordinates development, testing, and system release activities in concert with business needs and objectives
- Performs computer, electronic and other similar system testing and quality control checks of new updates and configurations.
- Constructs new user accounts and provides introductory training for users of enterprise-level software systems.
- Completes user account adjustments due to changes in staffing and communicates with Departments regarding proper system coverage.
- Responds to questions and requests for assistance with software use; refers more complex issues to appropriate staff for resolution.
- Maintains a working system knowledge of key operations for assisting users and ensuring proper use of the software.
- Trains users in system operations and reporting functions.
- Creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm software meets specifications.
- Writes documentation or reviews documentation written by others that describes configuration and operating procedures.
- Advises customers on how to accomplish tasks using the database applications by answering questions and providing training.
- Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions about software applications.
- Serves as liaison between users and vendors on complex technical matters requiring vendor participation to resolve, maintaining ongoing communications with both parties until issue is resolved or acceptable workaround procedure is determined.
- Assists customers with gathering information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field and two years of progressive HRIS experience implementing and supporting complex HR systems.
- Advanced computer systems skills including: four years of experience working with complex, enterprise-wide and/or human resources Information Systems
- Experience with Microsoft Excel specifically including work with large data sets and PivotTables
- Valid state-issued driver's license- Experience in Workday HCM modules.
- Experience with statistical, analytical, or business intelligence tools such as IBM Cognos Analytics.
- Knowledge of accepted methods and practices of position classification, recruitment and staffing, organizational development, and/or employee development and trainingEmployment Type: Full-Time
