Job Title: Parts Representative
Department: Parts
Reports to: Parts Manager
Job Summary:
This position is most essentially responsible for bridging the gap between the company and the customer. It requires an understanding of the wide variety of products that our company provides. It requires a positive and respectable attitude when interacting with the customer.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Answer the phone with an inviting and positive attitude.
- A good working relationship with the customer and vendor over the phone.
- Entering a customer’s order into the system accurately.
- Using provided resources to get the customer the correct part they need and providing the customer as much information as needed to understand their parts needs to the fullest.
- Recommend wear parts that are needed for the job the customer is working on.
- Works with internal departments to accurately generate quotes and post parts to work orders.
- Place orders with vendors and follow up on outstanding orders.
- Assist in keeping the department clean and orderly.
- Communicates well with customers to ensure order accuracy.
- Follow up on quotes sent to customers.
- Maintain work standards to our Company’s T.A.P principles.
- Collects payments.
- Performs activities directed by Parts Manager and Upper Management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and retain what you have learned.
- Basic computer skills, data entry, word, excel, etc.
- Position requires long periods of time sitting in position.
- Must be able to pick up and carry up to 30lbs.
- Must be able to type at least 45wpm.
- Clean driving record.
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Prior Parts experience in a similar industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
- Experience using NDS system.
- Bi-lingual preferred but not required.
