THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a Industrial Hygienist (Title 32) (Indefinite), Position Description Number D1719000and is part of the VA 192 MAI SQ, National Guard.

WHO CAN APPLY:
GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Member (E6/TSgt - E7/MSgt) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Air National Guard Military Technician Program.
GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Air National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Member (E6/TSgt - E7/MSgt) regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period.
GROUP III - Individuals eligible for membership in the Virginia Air National Guard.
Military Grades: Enlisted Member (E6/TSgt - E7/MSgt)
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training in industrial hygiene; or a branch of engineering, physical science, or life science that included 12 semester hours in chemistry, including organic chemistry, and 18 additional semester hours of courses in any combination of chemistry, physics, engineering, health physics, environmental health, biostatistics, biology, physiology, toxicology, epidemiology, or industrial hygiene. Courses in the history or teaching of chemistry are not acceptable.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant musthave at least 12 months of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-10 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government? This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as:
- Experience in researching industrial operations and develops, implements, and executes surveillance strategies, inspections and evaluations of operational facilities and various activities to detect and eliminate health hazards.
- Experience in writing industrial facility case files on installation industrial shops in accordance with Air Force Instruction (AFI) 48-145, Occupational Health Program.
- Experience in performing base wide no-notice, spot, and special inspections of operational facilities and worksites when statistical analyses and conditions dictate need, when new equipment is to be installed, and/or when hazardous conditions exist.
- Experience in maintaining a deficiency log.
