POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will interact with all levels of the organization including technicians, engineers, and executive level managers. The Industrial Engineer will be solely responsible for collecting, analyzing, and documenting equipment and labor metrics for capacity and layout planning. This will include estimating manufacturing costs, determining time standards, and making recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. In addition, this position will interact with cross-functional teams including representatives from Engineering, EH&S, Quality, Document Control, Operations, MES / Data Automation, and Management to drive or support continuous improvement initiatives while promoting safety and quality throughout the production facility.

EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Actively enforces Dimatix’s safety rules; utilizes PPE and works to correct safety and environmental hazards.
- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish job functions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and continuously improve the production system.
- Maintains labor and machine time standards, and resource planning models.
- Using theory of constraints and lean principles, identifies and leads the implementation of improved cycle time, product flow, and standardized work.
- Leads or coordinates ergonomic improvement efforts.
- Maintains CAD layouts and develops strategic planning layouts; work with various groups and departments to help create improved layouts of work areas.
- Performs capacity analysis & identifies opportunities for improvement; may provide support to the return-on-investment calculations for new investments.
- Flexible work schedule to accommodate 24x7 shift schedule for in-person observation/consultation.
- Approximately 40% of your time will be computer work, 30% in meetings for collaboration and communication; 30% field work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Analysis, or similar with minimum of 2 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree without experience, or equivalent work experience.

- Reliable, responsible, dependable, and able to fulfill obligations.
DESIRED:
- Familiarity with theory of constraints and lean manufacturing concepts.
- Six Sigma, Statistics, and/or Design of Experiments
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Experience with manual and automated assembly processes.
- Familiarity with semiconductor or MEMs fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
- Tableau and SQL data querying.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Time on the job will be a mix of sitting, walking, and standing.
- Must be able to move around in the clean room / manufacturing floor.
- Must be able to listen to verbal instructions and work from written instruction.
- Must be able to lift between 10 and 25 pounds without assistance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This job may require performing job functions in an office environment, a light industrial setting, and a clean room manufacturing environment.
- Clean room environment – must be able to wear full clean room garments, gloves, and safety glasses.
- Moderate noise level (printers, computers, moderate traffic, conversation, etc.).
