Job Summary:
The Industrial Engineer position is responsible for creating, developing, and implementing efficient manufacturing systems and reducing costs while maintaining standards of operations.
Essential Functions (Including but not limited to):
- Collaborates with senior engineers to design cost-effective manufacturing layouts and concepts.
- Designs and enhances work areas and layouts using AutoCAD to improve product flow and associate ergonomics.
- Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, and trends and developments in technology and equipment; applies this knowledge to maintain the organization's competitive edge.
- Implements methods and modifications to reduce production costs.
- Reviews SOPs and develops new processes SOPs.
- Performs any other duties as assigned in support of the company needs and operations.
- Supports Kaizen events across all functional areas.
- Conduct time study observations using various techniques and MOST.
- Knowledge of Lean Methods that include DMAIC and root-cause analysist
- Engages in engineering labor standard review and implementation.
- Performs time study evaluations using MOST and various time observation techniques.
- Perform any other duties as assigned in support of the company needs and operations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or Industrial Engineering and 1 year of engineering experience in a warehouse facility required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough understanding of ergonomics and applicable industry standards.
- Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills to be able to analyze and interpret data and draw valid conclusions that show understanding and insight.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients and internal departments.
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks and workload seamlessly with keen attention to detail and follow-up.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under critical time frames and work on multiple assignments and complex and sensitive information.
- High level of accuracy, efficiency and accountability.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
