We are looking for an Experienced Industrial Electrician for Automotive Supplier in Plymouth, MI. This is a Direct Hire role. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply!
2nd: 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday with occasional mandatory Saturdays
Pay: 25/hr to 30/hr with 5% shift differential! Rate based on level of expertise

Job Summary:
Responsible for completing routine maintenance, testing, and repairs of electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic systems and components.Thoroughly use background knowledge of electrical/electronics and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and application of skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of Manufacturing.
Job Duties:

• Troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment with minimal supervision using safe electrical techniques, schematics, and diagnostic instruments.
• Plan and perform work duties requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment
• Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with MIOSHA requirements.
• Respond to requests by maintenance supervisor or support personnel and arrange by priority to maximize equipment uptime.
• Gather and maintain a complete set of required tools, including electrical meters and diagnostic devices
• Utilize diagnostic tools and electrical schematics to define problem areas and assist with the resolution
• Develop PLC skills to troubleshoot control-related issues.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve operational uptime and equipment life
• Recommend improvements and/or changes to PM systems/tasks when applicable.

• Follow orders as written including PM work orders, continuous improvement tasks, new installation line-ups, and repair/refurbish assignments
• Ability to read and understand electrical diagram's and understand Ladder Logic diagram for troubleshooting purposes.
• Update drawings/prints suggest spare parts and suitable replacements, run conduit/wire-way and power drops
• Build, label, and wire panels/boxes in a professional manner per line-up and schematics.
• Assist and train other maintenance and/or other technical level employees.
• Advise operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components
• Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved
• Follow standard practices and governmental regulations and laws relating to powered equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and management.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Electrical journeyman's card or equivalent work experience required
• Ability to pass an Electrician aptitude test
• Ability to read electrical schematics, specify and gather material, and complete wiring installation or repairs with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions including: wet, humid, hot, cold, and confined spaces
• Working knowledge of industrial, mechanical, and electrical codes, techniques, and standards
• Familiar with government regulations for industry and safe work practices dealing with high voltage circuits.
• Strong background in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic arms, and overall machine troubleshooting skills
• Advanced understanding and experience with electrical schematics and ladder diagrams
• Working knowledge of various meters and diagnostic instruments used to evaluate electrical systems including low/high voltage and AC/DC circuits
• Familiarity with complex machinery, electrical circuits, and plant operating equipment
