The Off-Road division of Polaris Industries is currently seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and driven Industrial Design intern for the US based studio in Medina, Minnesota. We are looking for candidates with a strong creative talent in developing unique design concepts in a fast paced, creative environment. Candidate must have practical problem-solving skills and is driven to develop thoughtful design solutions that create meaningful user experiences. Candidates should be familiar with the basic working knowledge of the vehicles, possess strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate ideas through outstanding visualization and presentation skills. Responsible for daily creation of concepts and new product ideas at the forefront of the creative requirement for products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Intern will experience real-world scenario by supporting Off-Road production design programs for the global market & participate in future Off Road Vehicle concept exploration ideation, story creation and brainstorming for Polaris' future vehicle portfolio.
- Propose and develop unique problem-solving ideas, generating multiple creative design concepts that fulfill the functional requirements, meet business criteria, and elevate the brand experience.
- Excellent time management, organization & prioritization skills required to handle multiple production projects simultaneously within tight schedules and deadlines.
- Supports and reports to senior Industrial Design staff.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:
- Currently enrolled in an Industrial Design program from a recognized design school
- A portfolio that demonstrates wide-ranging concept exploration, innovative solutions, a clear design process and is visually appealing.
- Meticulous attention to details and great form development.
- Strong visual communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English.
- Proficient in 2D and 3D design visualization tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Blendr, Gravity Sketch, etc.)
- Good understanding of 3D Forms and the ability to create, manipulate and translate your ideas into 3D
- Awareness of Global Design trends in the mobility & powersports space
- Self-motivated, analytical, and artistic.
- Passionate about off-road vehicles and Powersports.
- A curiosity to explore and a desire to identify and solve problems
- Good team player
