Job Description
As an Inclusion and Diversity Communications Specialist in the Inclusion and Diversity function, your main focus will be bringing to life the storytelling element of H&M’s I&D strategy throughout the USA, Canada and Puerto Rico. Working collaboratively with the PR/Communications team, the specialist will support H&M in demonstrating the importance of our commitment to I&D through a range of internal and external communications touchpoints.
This hybrid role reports into our Regional Head of Inclusion and Diversity and is based out of the New York City Support Office.
A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*
Develop approach for the communications that aligns with H&M’s strategy for I&D in USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico
Collaborate with the Communications team around shared I&D storytelling priorities
Support H&M Colleague Resource Groups in promoting their programs and activities in collaboration with I&D Talent Engagement Lead
Collaborate with HR about people communications to support I&D goals and align with employer brand efforts
Serve as a liaison to Global I&D Communications Lead
Assist in the development of I&D internal and external communication content including presentations, press releases, social media posts, messaging, etc.
Develop I&D content for internal platforms such as Viva Engage, the Snapshot Newsletter, etc.
Serve as liaison to Area teams for I&D store activations
Capture and maintain a repository of Function and/or external partner I&D “proof points”
Develop framework and guide design of the I&D Impact Report
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to determine approach for:
Sharing diversity-specific talent related metrics
Capturing and sharing diversity-specific communications metrics
Maintain Region Americas I&D SharePoint site
Develop monthly Inside Inclusion executive newsletter
Maintain I&D activation asset library
Manage external I&D survey participation
Ability to travel domestically and internationally 10% of the time
Qualifications
Who You Are:
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
3-5 years of experience in developing and managing a similar initiative
Passion for Inclusion and Diversity
Solid knowledge of communications discipline, media platforms, influencers, etc.
Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion
Strong communication and presentation skills
Creative mindset and flair for engaging, compelling messaging
Basic skills in video creation and editing a plus
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
Orientation as a change manager

Compensation: salary range is $86,804 - $97,655 annually**
