Position Summary: As our Corporate Communications Specialist, you'll be the bridge between Leaf Home and the world, crafting compelling stories that resonate with diverse audiences. You'll tap into your journalistic intuition to unearth newsworthy angles, master the art of clear and concise communication, and become a strategic partner in shaping our brand image.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop compelling narratives that showcase our Company's achievements and values.
  • Adapt your writing style to diverse formats, from press releases to social media posts to employee newsletters, all in the spirit of consistently telling the company story in unique ways.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create engaging and informative content across all channels.
  • Develop and execute engaging communications strategies to keep employees informed, motivated, and aligned with company goals.
  • Write compelling content for internal channels like newsletters, intranet pages, and employee communications campaigns.
  • Foster a vibrant internal culture through storytelling and interactive initiatives.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with media outlets, influencers, and key stakeholders.
  • Craft and distribute impactful press releases, media pitches, and public statements.
  • Monitor media coverage and proactively manage our public image.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Experience and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Proven journalism experience with a strong track record of storytelling and writing success.
  • Excellent communication skills with a knack for crafting clear, concise, and engaging content.
  • Experience in both internal and external communications, ideally in a corporate setting.
  • Strong media relations and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in content management systems and social media platforms.
  • Ability to juggle various work activities and shift their attention from one task to another to meet the demands of different stakeholders without “dropping the ball.”
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-oriented environment and have a “roll up your sleeves” and “win every day” mentality.
  • Hold oneself accountable and responsible while being self-driven in accomplishing goals.
  • Detail-oriented and can focus on the task at hand by finding the most efficient and effective pathway to completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels to communicate with internal and external stakeholders articulately.
  • Ability to logically connect ideas, scrutinize and evaluate arguments, find inconsistencies and errors in work, solve complex problems, and engage in reflection.
  • Ability to provide timely and empathetic service through all communication channels keeping peer and customer needs first.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or Access).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

  • Combination of agency and/or in-house experience.
  • Strong pitching and relationship-building skills.

Travel Requirements:

  • Less than 10% domestic travel required.

Overtime/Additional Hours Requirements:

  • Additional hours may be required (exempt positions).

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Performs indoor work in a climate-controlled environment.
  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
