Under direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II, Service Desk Unit, the Information Technology Specialist I (IT Specialist I) provides support for all California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) customers in a wide range of consultative, analytical, and evaluative assignments to maintain, monitor, and keep current on the Department's technology infrastructure, applications, and PC software. The IT Specialist I is a high-level technical specialist accountable for the success and quality of the implementation of the IT Service Management Incident Management and Problem Management process that supports all technology platforms for the Department. The IT Specialist I performs both reactive root-cause analysis and proactive trend analysis within IT as well as coordination of the Major Incident Management (MIM) process and ensures adherence of the process and escalation requirements within the various support and delivery areas. This is the lead position for the IT Service Desk and the IT Specialist I is expected to provide leadership and technical guidance on complex hardware and software related incidents and to direct and monitor the Service Desk's technical workloads to maintain acceptable access levels, timely incident resolution, provide quality assurance and fully ensure all IT Service Desk commitments related to the handling of Major Incidents (MIs) are met.
May be required to travel up to 10% of the time.
