What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy?
ABA therapy applies our understanding of how behavior works to real situations. The goal is to increase behaviors that are helpful and decrease behaviors that are harmful or affect learning.
Applied Behavior Analysis involves many techniques for understanding and changing behavior. ABA is a flexible treatment:
- Can be adapted to meet the needs of each unique person
- Provided in many different locations – at home, at school, and in the community
- Teaches skills that are useful in everyday life
- Can involve one-to-one teaching or group instruction
What you"ll do:
- Providing one to one care for clients and their families
- Engaging learners throughout session through naturalistic and play based therapies.
- Implementation of written behavior intervention plans for behaviors with differing characteristics and functions
- Teaching replacement behaviors such as communication, social skills, and building independence within daily living skills.
- Responding to problem behavior calmly through ABA principles and written behavior intervention plans
- Accepting and applying positive feedback and constructive criticism to be the best for the clients we serve.
- Being a key stakeholder with a client team in progress within client progress for skill acquisition goals.
- Collaborating with a client team that includes BCBA/BCaBA and other RBTs to provide effective care to clients.
- Implementation of assent-based practices
Qualifications:
- Applicant must be 18 or older
- Applicant must possess a valid drivers license and current/active insurance
- Applicant must have reliable transportation
- Applicant must have a HS diploma or equivalent
- Applicant has current/active CPR certification or be able to obtain before start date
- Applicant must have current/active RBT certification or 40-hour required modules completed (certification sheet will be needed as proof)
The pay range for this role is:
21 - 27 USD per hour(Aurora)
