Impact and Evaluation Manager

Urban Upbound is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2004 to break cycles of poverty in public housing neighborhoods and other low-income communities in New York City. We advance our mission through six integrated programs: employment services, financial counseling, youth development and college access, income supports, community revitalization through business innovation, and financial inclusion anchored by the Urban Upbound Federal Credit Union.

The Impact and Evaluation Manager is a key member of the Development Team. They lead the impact monitoring activities of the organization and oversee the evaluation component of all programs across Urban Upbound. The Data and Evaluation Manager is also responsible for managing our CRM database and ensuring data integrity.

This is a fast-paced position ideal for an individual with drive, enthusiasm, strong work ethic, strong analytical and communications skills, and good at collaborating and multitasking within an environment of multiple deadlines. Also needed are a good sense of humor and a strong desire to create lasting, meaningful change in public housing neighborhoods.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working in collaboration with the rest of the Development Team and Program Directors, the Impact and Evaluation Manager is responsible for:

• Overseeing organization-wide reporting, paying attention to reporting requirements, deliverables and timelines per Contract Management protocol.
• Managing the Urban Upbound Dashboard and its multiple data streams.
• Supporting program directors with reporting compliance, data analysis, and data quality management.
• Coordinating with program directors the supervision and support of program data staff.
• Managing our Salesforce CRM, building out new objects and reports as needed, and managing user activity.
• Training staff on the use of our Salesforce CRM and on best practices for data collection and recording.
• Collaborating with the Development Team to run fundraising reports.
• Collecting qualitative data and designing new metrics in order to evaluate the full impact of the organization.
• Authoring reports and white papers.
• Supporting the development and leadership teams with data analysis requests, and producing special reports.
• Conducting audits of our physical and digital records.
• Keeping updated in best practices and technologies for safeguarding the integrity of data and ensuring its use is responsible and non-exploitative.
• Supervising interns when needed.
• Supporting community events as needed.
• Other tasks as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.

Qualifications

• BS in Statistics, Social Science Research, Nonprofit Management, or a related field is required. Master’s Degree preferred.
• Experience working with large databases, statistical analysis, and measuring impact.
• Knowledge of Salesforce as a system administrator is required.
• Experience in public policy, government research or academic research is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace is required. Advanced knowledge of Excel is a plus.
• Knowledge of Tableau is preferred.
• Experience in fundraising and grant writing is a plus.
• Flexible, with the ability to work remotely and to commute to the various Urban Upbound sites. Will need to work the occasional evening or weekend to attend community and fundraising events.
• Strong time management, organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and produce high quality work in a timely manner.
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with high integrity and respect.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with capacity to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience managing teams or leading collaborative projects is a big plus.
• Open to learning new skills and taking on additional responsibilities.
• Bilingual Spanish speaker is a plus. Other languages are welcomed.
• Sense of humor and passion for social justice.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
