Law Graduate Clerk
Seeking an Immigration Law Clerk (recent or soon-to-be law school graduate/non-attorney) to work at our Old Town Alexandria, Virginia office. Our firm handles a wide range of immigration cases before the Baltimore, Hyattsville, Annandale, and Sterling Immigration Courts, Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Cases include asylum, cancellation of removal, adjustment of status, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), waivers of inadmissibility, and more.
The Immigration Law Clerk will work directly under the Associate and Principal Attorneys. Tasks include legal research, drafting briefs, creating exhibit lists, taking affidavits, and completing immigration forms. This position is intended as a temporary position for a recent law school graduate who is planning to take, or who has recently taken, the Virginia Bar Exam. The position will result in a permanent job offer upon admission to the Virginia State Bar given satisfactory performance.
Qualifications:
JD degree
Internship/paralegal experience in Immigration Law
Ability to work independently on a variety of different tasks
Strong interpersonal skills
Virginia Bar Exam (taken or planning to take)
Preferred Qualifications:
Spanish fluency
