Responsibilities:
The Immigration Specialist shall facilitate immigration services and AOR (reunion families) process for refugees and immigrants.
S/he shall document and maintain proper records of all the immigration services rendered to clients under the Program.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Fluency in spoken and written English
Knowledge of at least one of the major refugee languages spoken in San Diego
Experience in immigration program and clerical work.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Willingness to work in a multicultural environment and with personalities from different backgrounds and cultures.
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and Database
Attend all required trainings and meetings.
Ability to generate and keep track of reports.
Responsible, resourceful, and punctual, with attention to detail
Team player who can also work with minimum supervision.
Ability to follow the regulations’ updates and apply them to the applications.
Own a car and have a valid California driver's license.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to act quickly in emergencies.
Ability to work effectively with people (refugee) adults to follow instructions both oral and written.
Ability to maintain electronic and physical files.
Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
Ability to maintain order and discipline and follow instructions.
Computer knowledge and competence
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education (Knowledge) bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Experience - 1-3 years of experience working in immigration services.
To have knowledge, information and experience in immigration law and procedure.
