Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or soon to have with a minimum of two years program experience
- Other experience required including application assistance, administrative experience, work with the public and management of data sheets
- Proficiency in modern business communications including personal computers, electronic mail, voicemail, facsimile and copier equipment
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain active case load of immigration clients
- Work with clients to file applications USCIS for naturalization, family petitions, others
- Act as a conduit with USCIS to access information and status updates for clients
- Enter all relevant data base
- Report out numbers on monthly and quarterly basis
- Attend internal and external agency meetings
- Attend contract and agency training sessions as provided
- Conduct monthly staff meetings or more frequently as required
- Fill in for staff in the classroom when needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Program Specific Responsibilities
- Assist with program activities in the Immigration program
- Assist application assistance efforts to all immigration clients
- Attend relevant meetings
- Meet regularly with supervisor to report on efforts
- Maintain detailed attendance records of clients to off
- Work at other BronxWorks sites as needed
Skills/Abilities
- Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time
- Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation
- Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work
