Job Duties & Skills Required
What You Will Do
The PC Support Technician will be working with PC's, Tablets and peripheral devices, installing and maintaining Windows 10 operating systems using local administrative consoles. Adddtionally you will install and manage local printers including client mapped and local IP printing. Other responsibilities include, using disk imaging tools to create, modify and deploy various PC images to new and refreshed PC's. This role will travel at times to our locations in Des Moines, Iowa and Lincoln, Nebraska.

Key Responsibilities and Duties of the Job
PC Support
- Install and update Windows operating systems on PC's and laptops.
- Install vendor critical and security patches and updates.
- Maintain desktop imaging procedures using Windows Deployment Server.
- Hardware refresh, break/fix and reimaging of new and existing PC's and laptops.
- Troubleshoot basic PC and peripheral functions.
- Provide support for all user IT support issues and work with available resources, hardware and software vendors to provide effective solutions, break/fix and problem resolution.
Help Desk Support
- Identifies, researches, and resolves technical issues and provides courteous and knowledgeable assistance to questions.
- Responds to help desk tickets, telephone calls and e-mail as assigned.
- Tracks and monitors IT problems to insure a timely resolution.
- Assists the Service Desk with IT support issues as remote hands and on-site resource.
- Fills in for the Help Desk Analyst when needed or as assigned.
Compliance
- Maintains and protects confidentiality with regard to all aspects of patient care and employee information.
- Adheres to Code of Conduct and Mission and Value statements.
Training
- Creates IT training materials for residents and provides one-to-one or small group training as needed.
- Creates IT training materials for employees and facilitates training during orientation.
- Updates, maintains and creates IT training materials and "How To" library.
Other
- Works the after-hours on-call rotation.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Skills & Requirements
Education-
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Associates Degree in computer science or related field preferred.
- Equivalent years of experience may substitute for education requirement.
Experience-
- One (1) year in a help desk support role is preferred.
- Equivalent years of education may substitute for experience requirement.
Other Requirements-
- Demonstrates experience in using, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows computer platforms in an active directory environment.
- Working knowledge of LAN/WAN hardware and administration.
- Ability to lift and carry computers and computer monitors.
- Demonstrates experience in using and troubleshooting various applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and Web based applications.
- Must have a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation.
