Imaging Coordinator

Epic Care is seeking an experienced Imaging Coordinator for our Emeryville location.

The Imaging Coordinator is responsible for clerical functions in the Diagnostic Imaging areas of our practice.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Coordinate and schedule imaging and follow-up appointments as designated by physicians.
• Give instructions regarding exam preparation.
• Obtain and manage all physician orders in a timely and efficient manner.
• Effectively communicate with patients', physicians and other staff both within the Clinic and at outside facilities providing accurate, timely, and responsive information.
• Coordinate processes and route all paperwork as required to meet physician and facility requirements.
• Ensure efficient telephone communication.
• Follow all written protocols and procedures of the Clinic.
• Demonstrate courtesy and helpfulness toward patients and their families
• Utilize computer to obtain copies of appropriate lab work, demographic data and other pertinent information. Obtain results of tests and place with present exam information.

SKILLS:

• Medical terminology.
• Familiarity with computers and other office equipment.
• Basic typing and keyboarding skills.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain calm and positive attitude in stressful situations. Have the ability to respond to changing workload and work environment
• Ability to complete work tasks in timely manner.
• Ability to accept accountability for actions daily by utilization of self-evaluation, patient evaluations, and supervisor evaluations to modify job performance.
• Ability to articulate and demonstrate professional image of Department Scheduler/Coordinator to patients, other professionals, and the public as evidenced by level of practice.
• Must maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with hospital policy and HIPPA guidelines.

EXPERIENCE:

• Prior medical experience of at least 1 year
• Experience with imaging and diagnostics preferred
• Experience with customer service and multi-line phones.
• Professional demeanor and phone etiquette required.
