Under the supervision of a Maintenance Mechanic 4 - Yakima Region of the Construction and Facilities Management Office (CFMO), State Maintenance and Support Services (SMSS), this position provides skilled, journey-level functions as associated with assigned work efforts for CFMO related facilities, systems, and equipment.
This is a civilian position and does not require military service affiliation.

Responsibilities include:
- HVAC control management through the National Guard Bureau (NGB) Energy Management Control System (EMCS).
- Journey-level HVAC work in the completion of assigned preventive maintenance, maintenance and repair, and non-repair efforts.
- Provide HVAC review of construction plans, equipment, and controls on remodels, upgrades, and/or new construction.
- Assist grounds and custodial crews as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Journey-level standing as a refrigeration mechanic or steamfitter as attested by completion of a recognized apprenticeship in refrigeration or steamfitter trades, AND
- 06A Electrical License (required by Washington State L&I), AND
- Universal CFC Recovery Certification.
Experience:
- Skilled, journey-level experience in HVAC maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment
- Standard practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in mechanic trades and HVAC work.
- HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural, and mechanic systems/components.
- Occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building trades.
- Basic safety, building, environmental, and construction codes and regulations.
- Read plans and blueprints for buildings, infrastructure systems, equipment, etc.
- Consult with supervisors and make recommendations about repairs/remodeling work needed.
- Operate standard office equipment (computer, telephone, copier, scanner, etc.).
Compensation: Wage/salary depends on qualifications or rules of promotion.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Background Investigation: Must successfully complete the appropriate background checks required for employment and to obtain/maintain a Department of Defense DoD Common Access Card (CAC). Must be willing to sign releases of information and shall not have access to any investigative materials and files. The processing of background checks can take up to six months post-employment. Failure to successfully pass a background check may be cause for termination.

Driver's License:
- Valid to drive in the State of Washington.
- Must meet requirements of the REAL ID Act. This is required for base access and will be required upon hire.
Work Hours: A choice between a Tuesday through Friday (4/10 schedule): Monday through Thursday (4/10 schedule): or Monday through Friday (5/8 schedule). Actual hours will start no earlier than 6:00 am and end no later than 6:00 pm, and will include core business hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Emergency Assignment: Upon activation of the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) or Joint Field Office (JFO), incumbent may be required to work in an alternate location with rotating shifts, including weekends and evenings, in a highly stressful and fast-paced environment.
Travel: Regular region-widetravel may be required up to 70%.
