Physical Requirements
This position requires the physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, lift 80 pounds with assistance, work on boom trucks, reach above shoulder height, climb ladders and work on scaffolds up to 50 feet high, use hand tools, and work in confined spaces and at heights on lifts and catwalks. Willing to work in all types of weather conditions. Ability to operate District vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions.
Salary:
2023-24 Salary Schedule: $49.57-50.07 per hour
Work shift: 8 hours per day, 260 days per year

FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Benefits
Our benefits package includes Washington state health insurance coverage (SEBB) and a Washington state retirement package for eligible positions. Eligibility for health insurance at the time of hire is determined by holding at least a 3.5 hour per day continuing contract position, or being hired into a non-continuing position that is anticipated to reach 630 hours during the school year. Eligibility for retirement at the time of hire is determined by holding at least a 4 hour per day continuing contract.

Required Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and Air Conditioning mechanical and electrical systems and equipment, including the operation of electric motors, air compressors, boilers, HVAC direct digital controls, and related equipment.
- Ability to inspect, maintain, and repair boilers, motors, furnaces, heat pumps, gas packs, exhaust fans, variable air units, air handlers, air conditioners, ice machines, ovens, water chillers and other cooling units.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others
- Ability to maintain, program, and repair HVAC controls, including direct digital controls.
- Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot HVAC system problems.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, work drawings, and code books.
- Ability to design and fabricate ventilation ducts.
- Ability to maintain up-to-date service records and to accurately and legibly complete work documentation such as labor and material records using basic arithmetic.
- Ability to write effective reports and recommendations related to preventative maintenance.
- Ability to recognize safety hazards and work safely.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, District staff, parents, and the general public.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in-writing.
- Ability to work independently and establish daily priorities with a minimum amount of supervision.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to respond to emergencies and re-prioritize workload as needed.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to operate a personal computer using Windows-based software.
Licenses/Special Requirements
Must possess and maintain the following:
- Valid Washington State Driver's License
- CPR and First Aid Certifications
- Fork Lift with Aerial and Boom Truck License
- Trained-in and able to perform refrigeration and Air Conditioning work
