Ryder is hiring a HVAC Technician for our Mobile Maintenance Team for the Chicago area.
Under supervision from a supervisor or manager , the Maintenance Tech II is responsible for all maintenance functions of the facility. The position requires direct involvement with daily operations and future projects to ensure technical activities support facility goals and objectives. Personnel in these groups may have varying degrees of customer or contractor contact levels.
About the position:
- Consistent Pay: Pay is based on experience, can earn Up to $30/HR
- Schedule: Day Shift
Monday- Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM (OT as needed)
- Requirements:
- EPA Certification, required
- Commercial/ Industrial Heating and Air-Conditioning experience, required
- Motivated & Dependable
- Other Requirements: Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug test

- High school diploma or equivalent
- 8-10 years plant/warehouse general maintenance experience, including eletrical and mechanical repair and trouble-shooting
- Has the ability to make quick, reliable decisions that represent both the customer and Ryder
- Good organizational, communication, and planning skills
- Vocational or Technical Certification preferred
- Experience operating forklift equipment required
- Equipment certification may be required
- Performs maintenance and trouble-shooting functions on all warehousing equipment in an independent and effective manner
- Maintains and trouble-shoots plant utility systems including fire protection, water, electrical, air, and vacuum as applicable
- Understands shop maintenance, parts inventory, parts ordering, and plant reporting systems
- Performs routine forklift repairs
- Maintains batteries and related equipment
- Perfoms routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) and maintains records of repairs
- If required, provides training, including aspects of safety, quality, sanitation, and efficiency of packaging/warehouse equipment, for operations associates
- Additional duties as assigned, overtime as needed
