Job Description
We are looking for an energetic and sharp individual with excellent communication skills to serve as our Human Resources Manager. As a largely solo position for our Company with about 130 employees, you will be responsible for interacting with the leadership team in areas of employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, payroll and employee development. We will rely on the Human Resources Manager to design and implement HR policies and programs and manage all aspects of employee relations and development. You will manage the recruiting process and implement programs to both attract and retain talent critical to grow the business. Additionally, you will work with employees to foster an open and collaborative culture where accountability is valued as a key asset.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement HR policies and programs as required by the business and compliant with applicable laws
• Develop employee-oriented company culture emphasizing high performance, accountability and constant employee development in line with company objectives
• Ensure accuracy of all job descriptions across all company employees
• Develop and manage employee orientation and training programs for constant staff development on HR policies and company mission and vision
• Manage recruiting and staffing process for the company
• Maintain employee performance management, identify opportunities for improvement and review with department leads
• Administer employee benefits and compensation packages
• Lead initiative to align overall compensation structure (salary and benefits) with benchmarks in the industry to attract and retain talent
• Maintain compliance of all employee policies and regulations based on State and Federal requirements
• Provide companywide communication and manage company events and activities
• Provide reports on HR key performance metrics and develop new reporting tools to track goals attainment
• Review, guide and approve management recommendations on employee hiring and terminations
• Participate in management meetings and activities as required
• Maintain employee files and updating payroll system
• Payroll processing
• Assist and coordinate any payroll changes, compliances and reconciliations.
• Monitor unemployment claims by reviewing claims, provide proper documentation, and interfacing with unemployment board of inquiry
• Processes worker’s compensation claims and ensures back to work programs are followed
• Other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Superior ability to compose memos, correspondence, agreements, job descriptions, training manuals and other professional documents.
- Compelling and articulate speaker. Easy to engage and can easily adjust to audience.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of employee benefits, including administrative, legal and financial issues relating to healthcare coverage, retirement plans, and educational assistance programs.
- Exhibits meticulous attention to detail. Is committed to producing accurate and high-quality work.
- Must be flexible and have the ability to "think out of the box".
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least two years of Human Resources experience
- SHRM or PHR certification a plus

- Work Schedule: M - F, (Friday's are optional work from home after completion of training, with the office closing at 1:30 pm)

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at a time.
