Provides counsel to employees and all levels of management on employee relations issues ensuring legal compliance with policy and laws.
Conducts internal investigations in accordance with Company policy and legal requirements.
Works with managers to successfully execute the annual performance review cycles and also assists managers with performance issues/terminations of staff.
Works with Union representatives to facilitate a good working relationship. Responsible for grievance administration,interpretation and compliance of CBA and participates in collective bargaining negotiations
Oversees local unemployment compensation claims
Oversees the required record keeping in compliance with state and federal law. Maintains appropriate tracking record keeping, and supports the department with all EEO and AAP reporting.
Oversees local worker's compensation claims and OSHA reporting logs to ensure compliance.
Oversees the administration of leave of absence process, including but not limited to FMLA, work comp disability, and any other forms of leave required under state/federal law and/or corporate policy.
. Assists with managing payroll locally and monitors the time and attendance system.
Implements Corporate Human Resources programs and policies
Actively engages in communications with other HR team members around best practices and identifies opportunities to create consistency where necessary.
Supports succession planning initiatives and corresponding action step
Maintains current knowledge of state and local DOT standards and requirements
Partners with HR Management team to develop and implement targeted training and development programs; conducts regulatory training sessions as needed.
Assists with preparation of employee relations, compensation and benefits budgets.
Engages Management in actively managing and developing future talent.
Manages HR support staff
Responsible for development and administration of all employee benefit programs including health insurance, dental insurance,vision insurance, short and long term disability, life insurance, and 401(k)
Manage annual open enrollment process and conduct employee benefit information sessions as appropriate
Designs and implements wellness initiatives and monitors the effectiveness of the program
Responsible for conducting job analysis and creating job descriptions. Ensures positions are correctly classified ;proposes ideas/solutions in support of maintaining competitiveness .
Oversees the administration of base pay,variable pay, and incentive programs and policies
Supports the Head of HR through implementation of HR strategy to assure appropriate employee resources are available to achieve planned results.
Owns the data integrity process and identifies, implements and improves processes and procedures
Oversees employee changes in HRIS systems. i.e. job title, job code, compensation, etc.
