Form of workPRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
The Human Resources Intern will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department to include hiring and onboarding of new team members, performance management, and other ad-hoc projects. This is a paid internship with the possibility of earning college credits. We are looking for a part to full-time commitment this winter of 2023 and into the early summer semester (part-time/flexible with class schedule).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
50%: Recruitment & Selection: Much of your day will be spent assisting with the hiring of new hires, such as screening resumes within JazzHR, scheduling interviews, as well as post, update and remove job ads from job boards, careers pages and social networks - help be our social media expert!
15% Onboarding: Assists with orientations and completion of new hire paperwork within ADP Workforce Now (WFN).
10% Prepares and maintains employee personnel files; maintains compliance with federal/state/local laws to ensure integrity and confidentiality of files.
10% Updating our internal databases with employee information like contact details and employment forms.
5% Assist in answering general questions explaining human resource policies and procedures to employees in a positive and friendly manner.
5% Varity of other ad-hoc projects include improving our employee retention program, updating job descriptions, and conducting exit interviews.
5% Help be our employee advocate; be out on the warehouse floor on a regular basis and assist the HR team with other events to help boost employee morale.

About Alliance Beverage:
In 1963 a man named Larry Gary, originally from the west side of Chicago, decided that owning a beer distributorship in Grand Rapids Michigan would be more fun than running a bowling alley. That was the moment that the company called Kent Beverage began.
At the same time a man named Tim Sullivan, originally from the east side of Detroit, was happily running a construction business. However, when Tim noticed his friends, who owned beer distributorships, were having more fun, he had to get one of his own. And he did, when he purchased B&B Beer in the late 1970's!
Both businesses grew and prospered. Both businesses were passed from fathers to sons and continued to succeed in their territories until one day, over a pint, these two families decided to form a joint venture whereby the two companies combined would be stronger than the sum of their parts. They called the company Alliance Beverage and it was born May 13, 2013.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enrolled in a Human Resources program degree.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with an HRIS a plus!
- Administrative expert since documentation and filing are a must in HR.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers.
JOB STATION and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; open-office environment.
- In-person; not remote.
