Job Description
Spring Meadow Nursery Inc. is excited to add a part-time Human Resources (HR) intern to our Human Resources department. This position is a unique hands-on role for an individual passionate about day to day HR interactions and expectations. This role offers the opportunity to work with a wide array of HR related tasks, such as H2A staffing, HRIS, timekeeping and payroll, to name a few!
- Manage, organize and update internal databases with new employee information, details, and forms
- Assist with updates, changes, and questions in HRIS (ADP)
- Assist with communication and distribution of HR policies, procedures and standards to guide the operations – digital and hard copies
- Assist with onboarding process for new hires, including phones, email setup, computers, etc.
- Assist in performance management tracking and organization of office staff
- Assisting with payroll processes, such as reviewing weekly timecards
- Assist with benefits administration which includes, but is not limited to the following programs: Medical/Rx, Dental, Life/AD&D, Short & Long-term Disability, 401(k), & Supplemental and Voluntary Insurance
- Prepare HR related reports as needed
- Be willing to assist with special projects and take on one-off tasks large or small

- Education/ Experience Currently enrolled in a 4-year program in Human Resources, business, and looking to complete an internship program
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality
- Computer skills and knowledge of office software packages with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of clerical practices and procedures
- Familiarity of Human Resources management practices and procedures, and HRIS is preferred
- Knowledge of business and management principles
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Bi-lingual Spanish is highly desirable
- Must possess the ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move 20 pounds
- Must maintain a level of performance equivalent to company standards, that being a “Meets Expectations” in all areas of your performance evaluations (including but not limited to, Self and Management reviews).
