Graymont is seeking a well-organized and highly motivated Human Resources Intern to work with the Employee and Labor Relations Team. The HR Intern will focus on various areas of support within the Recruiting and Employee and Labor Relations functions and will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a busy multi-jurisdictional environment. The HR Intern will be heavily involved in the implementation of Graymont's new onboarding platform.
The Employee and Labor Relations team is geographically dispersed and works in a flexible, hybrid work model.Accordingly, the successful candidate will be able to effectively work from home, collaborating with colleagues who may also be working at home or other remote locations.
This position will support the Employee and Labor Relations team to accomplish the following duties and responsibilities:
Employee and Labor Relations
- Create, design and test various company profiles within new onboarding system
- Generate offer letters for salary, hourly and temporary employees
- Develop interview packets utilizing Graymont competencies
- Prepare job postings and company-wide announcements
- Provide support on FMLA and unpaid leave matters
- May assist in the preparation of collective bargaining and other labor relations matters.
Recruiting
- Schedule phone, Teams and in-person interviews
- Submit online job postings to multiple job sites
- Refresh current job postings in applicant tracking system (Taleo) and other job boards
- Submit background checks and schedule pre-employment drug/alcohol and medical screening appointments.
- Set up competency and skills testing for candidates
- Prepare purchase orders
- Research recruiting metrics and best practices
- Conduct reference checks for potential new hires
- Additional HR Administration support as needed
Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Advance skills in the Microsoft Suite of programs - Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Must maintain a strict level of confidentiality
- Ability to speak French is a plus
