Role Snapshot

The Internship Program with WPS Health Solutions is comprised of four key components. WPS interns will primarily focus on the responsibilities within their functional areas, as it relates to their respective field of study. In a group setting, interns will collaborate on the “Pay-It-Forward Project” – the development of a resource to be utilized for future program participants. The third component relates to exposure to corporate culture and training to aid in future career successes. At the conclusion of the program, interns will participate in a final presentation for senior executives by showcasing their experience in the program and functional areas.

 

What the team does:

The People Resource Center provides operational support to all Human Resource teams including Benefits, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and People Technology working within the Agile Scrum methodology. The team is responsible for:

  • Data integrity, processing, and auditing employee transactions.
  • Employee support services, answering employee inquiries, and maintaining an inquiry knowledge base.
  • Process optimization, standardizing and improving workflows.
  • Compliance coordination for Human Resources.

What you will do:

  • Under direct supervision of professional staff, provide entry-level professional Human Resources support services through the People Resource Center.
    • Support the Employee Experience by answering or escalating employee questions.
    • Participate in improving procedures and workflows related to Human Resources.
    • Process employee data changes in the Human Resources Information System.
    • Protect systems and data according to compliance and security requirements.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of an assigned summer project.
  • Use acquired knowledge and skills to carry out and complete project activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Be currently pursuing a degree in higher education or recent graduate
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Be currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources

Hourly Rate of Pay

  • The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The starting hourly range for this position is $17-$20

This role is open to 100% remote work for this opportunity in the following approved states:
Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin   

 

To help strengthen communication, provide a sense of community, and improve the overall remote work experience, the assigned office community based on the position’s division is: Shared Services: West Frankfort, Illinois
