Human Resources Generalist / Payroll Administrator
At SWAT Environmental, we protect homes & businesses from the harmful effects of Radon. As the nation’s largest and leading Radon Mitigation company, we are seeking a highly qualified Human Resources Generalist / Payroll Administrator.
The individual in this role will be responsible for running the daily functions of the Human Resources Department including administering bi-weekly, multi-state payroll, benefits, leaves of absence, onboarding and offboarding. This person will also assist the Vice President of Human Resources with employee engagement, employee relations, policy/procedure development and performance management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares and processes bi-weekly, multi-state exempt and non-exempt payroll for over 200 employees.
- Manages HRIS/payroll system, including recruiting, onboarding, reporting and payroll.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters, disputes, and investigations; performance and talent management; employee engagement; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters as appropriate.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Administer HR policies and programs; provides guidance and support to managers to ensure policies and procedures are enforced consistently; assists in developing and updating company policies and procedures as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or a related field required.
- SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience processing payroll, with at least one year’s experience with a multi-state employer with at least 150 employees.
- 2+ years’ experience in a HR Generalist/Representative/Coordinator role.
- Exceptional and highly professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with HRIS/payroll systems (experience with Paycor is a plus).
WORK SETTING:
- Job Type: Full-time/Onsite (not a remote position)
- Location: Office in New Berlin, WI (near S. Moreland Rd & Cleveland Ave)
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm (normal business hours)
