What you'll do:
This position serves as the centralized resource for employees with regard to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
Review medical certification and recertification paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
Review documentation and approve or deny employees requests for FMLA coverage.
Ensure compliance with state/federal laws, rules, and regulations.
Communicate information to the requesting employees and other appropriate staff.
Maintain a system for tracking, reporting, and analysis of data.
Provide status reports of FMLA usage, and notify supervisor of observations and/or concerns.
Assist with the review and revision of department policy and procedure.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Some travel required.
All you need for success:
Knowledge of state/federal FMLA laws.
Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in processing employee requests.
Ability to communicate effectively, and pay attention to detail.
Ability to identify and resolve problems and improve process.
Ability to handle stress and calmly deal with issues that arise.
Critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Computer skills.
Knowledge of SAMII HR preferred, but not required
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, OR three to five years of experience in personnel administration/Human Resources.
(A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the stated qualifications)
