Under the overall direction of the Human Resources Manager, the HRG is responsible for supporting our fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment. This individual will be a key member of the department and will support employees in the manufacturing operation, including salaried and hourly team members, in a variety of HR responsibilities. This is a dynamic position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. This individual will have a strong emphasis in employee relations and benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Benefits
- Performs benefits administration, including change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefits information to employees.
- Responsible for the administration, coordination, and communication of open enrollment.
- FMLA / Short-Term Disability administration and compliance.
- Communicate basic benefits procedures at the end of employment.
- Coordinate and calculate premium payments for new hires, new enrollees, and terminating employees with third party payroll company.
- Participate in internal and external audits and censuses
Payroll:
- Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s rates changes, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
Employee Relations:
- Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Facilitate progressive discipline process including verbal and written warnings, corrective actions, suspensions, and terminations.
- Lead employee relations efforts and train / mentor back-up.
Staffing:
- Perform full-cycle recruitment services for multiple positions across all levels by maintaining organizational staffing needs including reviewing applications; conducting phone screens, interviewing; administering assessments; partnering in hiring decisions; presenting and negotiating offers.
- Creates and updates position descriptions by conducting position analysis process and/or editing job information based on hiring criteria.
Offboarding:
- Conduct exit interviews, identify concerns or risks, and make recommendations to leadership.
- Ensure seamless transition for employee and company by following and implementing an offboarding checklist. This includes shoring up final paycheck wages, deductions, and paid time off is reflected accurately, notifying IT to remove access, collecting any keys, and information is communicated.
Safety:
- Reporting and following up on worker’s compensation claims
- Responsible for the maintenance of the Safety Incident Reports including the upkeep, storing, completion, and corrective action.
- Responsible for reporting and posting of OSHA required documents including labor poster and OSHA 300 logs.
- Department presence as a Safety Team Member and attend all safety meetings and report back to members relevant information.
Administrative:
- Develop, evaluate, and document SOP’s for the Human Resources knowledge hub
- Develop and update HR related policies, procedures, guideline, programs, and forms in accordance with the state and federal law.
- Maintain documentation and file personnel documents
Preferrable Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with a thorough knowledge in all Human Resources generalist functions (e.g., Employee Relations, Employment law, Benefits, Training, etc.)
- Familiarity with Human Resource Information Systems
- Experience with investigating employee complaints, inappropriate conduct, and performance issues and recommending and issuing disciplinary action when necessary.

- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or management
- Ability to handle conflict and perform comfortably in changing, fast paced environment
- Manage multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines with attention to detail

- Works well independently, yet is cooperative in working with team members
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees within the organization

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Management with emphasis in HR or related field. 3-5 years of prior Human Resource work in a production/manufacturing environment.
