Fremont Brewing Company, a family-owned craft brewery, is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Generalistfor our HR Department of one! The Human Resources Generalist covers a wide range of responsibilities for approximately 75 employees including: compliance, reporting, recruitment and retention, onboarding, development of procedures, employee relations and more. This position reports to the Owner/CEO and will split time between our Ballard and Fremont locations. The ideal candidate has a deep passion for community, craft beer, is self-motiving, consultative, has a focus on recruiting and hiring, maintaining HR systems, and supporting managers.

Pay Range: $65,000 to $75,000 per year
Job Responsibilities & Expectations
- Establish and direct policies and practices across the organization.
- Serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions and assisting in the resolution of employee related issues.
- Directs staffing, recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
- Administers compensation and benefit plans including COBRA.
- Ensures company compliance with current applicable employment laws.
- Provides effective crucial conversation guidance and coaching to leadership relating to employee concerns, problems, and disciplinary action.
- Communicates effectively by consistently sharing information with others balancing transparency with the highest level of confidentiality.
- Maintains records and compiles reports concerning personnel related data such as hires, turnover, performance management, required training, permits, etc.
- Analyzes training needs to design employee and leadership training and development.
- Works collaboratively with leadership to facilitate strategic business growth and accomplish brewery objectives.
- Supports safety committee efforts and oversee all workplace injury’s including Labor & Industry and OSHA accident reporting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
- 5+ years of experience in progressively responsible Human Resources roles
- PHR or SPHR certification strongly preferred
- Experience in manufacturing industry is a plus
- Experience in retail industry is a plus
- Strong knowledge of Human Resource management for a growing company operating in multiple states (Washington, Oregon, and California)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with internal and external audience
- Excellent interviewing skills
- MS Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- An ability to maintain approachability and build strong relationships with all levels of employees and customers
- An eye for building community in a growing organization
- Problem solving and conflict resolution
- Experience working with HRIS systems, currently using BambooHR
- Project management including research, testing, implementation, and training
- A general persona of awesomeness and ability to laugh at oneself
Physical Requirements
- Regular office administration requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours)
- Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, etc.
- See details of objects that are less than a few feet away
- Ability to lift 30lbs
