QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the Director of HR with COVID-19 contact tracking, leave of absence administration, reasonable accommodations, internal newsletters and HR compliance. The Generalist will assist the HR team with benefits administration, employee relations, reward and recognition, processing status and pay transactions, annual appraisal entry and other projects as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary function will include Employee Relations.
- Conduct COVID-19 contact tracking.
- Provide required leave of absence (FMLA) paperwork to employees and manage leave files for the duration of the leaves and through the return to work process.
- Track all leave of absences in HRIS system.
- Serve as the liaison between employees and supervisors during the interactive process for reasonable accommodations.
- Provide proactive and appropriate support and professional consultation to employees and managers regarding leave, reasonable accommodation and benefit matters.
- In consultation with the HR Director, provide intake on employee relations complaints and concerns.
- Maintains employee data and changes in HRIS systems.
- Create, edit and revise in-house correspondence, newsletter and work instructions.
- Provide support for external and internal audits (DOL, ISO, DHS, OFCCP, CARF, HR internal audits, etc.).
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, business, Human Resources or related field and professional HR certification required.
- 5+ years strong hands-on experience performing leave of absences with a focus on FMLA, benefits, reasonable accommodations and other HR Generalist functions in high volume workplace with very current employment law knowledge.
- Proven strong interpersonal and empathy skills with strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task and meet stringent deadlines with exceptional follow up.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS and other HR-related database management systems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including all Microsoft Office programs; strong spreadsheet and analysis skills.
- For positions that require driving, must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, and be able to travel as needed if you drive
