Job Responsibilities
- Serves as one of four human resource specialists in the payroll branch that handles transactions affecting an employee's payroll check.
- Receives and processes employee terminations for their final payroll check.
- Coordinates payroll issues with the office of comptroller general and the state treasurer's office.
- Keys and verifies information for agency new hires.
- Serves as payroll individual by keying and ensuring all actions are processed before payroll is run by the comptroller general's office.
- Receives and submits court ordered deductions, i.e., bankruptcy, child support and tax levies to the comptroller general's office.
- Assists employees with questions relating to their payroll checks.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree and relevant experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
- A bachelor's degree and relevant human resource experience.
- An associate's degree and two (2) years relevant human resource experience;
- A high school diploma and four (4) years relevant human resource experience.
