Responsibilities:
- Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Ongoing audit of benefit plans to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
- Conduct quarterly file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained.
- Coordinates all information, reporting and activity for Workers Compensation and Unemployment claims and benefits for employees. Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings, if needed.
- Manage benefit open enrollment and informs employees of benefits, directing the processing of benefit claims and designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
- Manage HR related staff events including Staff Appreciation Day and Agency wide meetings and birthday acknowledgements.
- Create and manage employee wellness program and incentives
- Maintains employee confidence and protect operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
- Coordinates all FMLA and any other leave requests and documentation.
- Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.
- Enforces management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
- Retains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.
- Cultivates professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Ensuring employees follow all policies and procedures.
- Assessing reports provided by the HR team, team leaders and operations managers to determine employee performance and training needs.
- Suggesting changes in policies and procedures based on employee and company needs.
- Researching compensation standards set by industry and governing bodies in order to create salary structures and administer employee benefits.
- Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university or similar work experience required
- 3-5 years of experience in a progressively responsible human resource role
- 3+ years of experience in Labor Relations and Employee Relations
- 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role
- PHR/SPHR certification preferred
- Demonstrates a strong sense of customer service with tact, diplomacy, professionalism, and sensitivity in all interactions.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to quickly assess priorities and adjust as needed.
