Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Human Resources Business Partner serves as a consultant to leadership and staff on human resource related matters. The Human Resources Business Partner establishes and maintains effective partnering relationships with department leaders to ensure their goals and objectives related to Human Resources are achieved and aligned with organizational policies, protocols and HR best practices including compensation management, training, and employee relations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in business or Human Resources and or demonstrated progressive HR work experience equivalent of 3 - 5 years.
- Experience in a collective bargaining environment preferred
- PHR or SPHR desired, but not required
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Leadership Support:
-Serves as an advisor on a wide variety of employee relations matters including performance, coaching, and grievances
-Provides guidance and interpretation of internal HR policies and procedures, state and federal law, collective bargaining agreements as well as other legal requirements.
-Provides HR mentorship to newly hired supervisors
-Supports leaders in developing job descriptions
-Supports leaders in training development programs.
-Supports the organization and department heads in leading a wide variety of employee recognition and engagement efforts.
Compensation and Data Analysis:
-Prepare and review compensation offers via salary rubrics
-Prepare analysis and statistics of employment data
-Conduct audits of HR systems and data to ensure data integrity.
Human Resources Team Support:
-Serves as a backup on all HR team functions
-Provides escalated support to the HR Specialists
-Makes recommendations and contributes to HR policies and protocols to ensure best practices.
