Role:
Provides professional support to one or more functional areas of Human Resources. Processes various applications, employment, enrollment, pay change, informational, and other confidential forms and records. Gathers information and prepares reports as assigned. Maintains and distributes current employee information, policy, and procedure manuals and other communications. May be involved in employee communications, such as pre-employment screening, responding to routine questions on human resource policies and procedures, identifying potential issues and grievances, etc.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
25% - Processes in-house payroll such as entering automated payroll data accurately, processing employee timesheets and monitoring employees data files on line, including medical leaves of absence, promotions, terminations and other deductions as approved. Processes payroll and reports in a timely manner. System knowledge and troubleshooting the Paylocity HRIS system when appropriate. Coordinates information in preparation of any payroll related audit.
20% - Administrative support to include: new hire and termination checklist processes. Review monthly bills to ensure accuracy and process for payment accordingly. Prepare new hire Road to Greatness, benefits and services material and update as needed. Manage the background check process for all new employees and existing employees when appropriate.
20% - Working knowledge of all benefits and services the credit union offers employees such as medical, dental, vision, 401k, TDB, LTD, Voluntary Life Programs, HRA, FSA and the websites and processes that support each benefit plan. Troubleshoot and resolve internal and external inquiries.
15% - Administrator for the credit union's on line training tool (BAI) to support mandates and recommended training. Tracks and notifies employees when specified training is due. Incorporates all internal training programs into the system for tracking and reporting purposes.
10% - Manage the credit union's supply budget and evaluate vendors when necessary.
5% - Act as back up for the compensation (Compease) and performance (Performance Pro) systems. Working knowledge of the credit union's compensation and incentive programs.
5% - Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Other Skills: Strong computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to react quickly to arising problems is also required. Detail oriented required. Confidentiality required. Experience with HRIS systems to include payroll, benefit and recruiting processes preferred.
Physical Requirements: Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Work Environment: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
