Position: Human Resource/Recruiter
Reports to: Human Resource Manager
The STL Human Resource Generalist is responsible for the successful administration of the philosophy, policies and procedures relating to all personnel at ABBCO Service Corporation. The final result required is a high morale people-oriented organization operating by the rules.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with popular word processing program required. Microsoft Word for Windows preferred.
- Ability to communicate both oral and written required.
- Database experience helpful. Microsoft Access preferred.
- Spreadsheet experience helpful. Microsoft Excel preferred
- Desktop publishing experience helpful. Microsoft Publisher preferred.
- Basic Bookkeeping concepts helpful.
- Familiar with Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) safety rules and regulations.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Basic knowledge of Worker's Compensation law and rules including calculation of the Modification Factor required.
- Basic knowledge of Employment and Unemployment laws and rules required.
- Ability to effectively deal with customers, employees, potential employees, and regulating government representatives essential.
- Accurate data entry.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Visual acuity to the extent that the person can use a PC for creating, editing, and proof reading documents, spreadsheets, etc. Hearing/ speaking ability in English to the extent that the person can converse with customers, employees and prospective employees in person and on the telephone. Ability to conduct training programs. Ability to the extent that the person can identify safety hazards such as frayed cords, wet floors, etc. Ability to converse over the phone with Branch Management, INS Personnel, insurance company representatives, etc. Because demonstration is the preferred method of instruction, and on occasion involving new job starts (most commonly during start-ups of larger jobs), the incumbent must be able to life 40 pounds and perform cleaning duties involving lifting, standing, bending and twisting.

DUTIES:
- Assist Human Resource Manager/Operations Managers in scheduling of interviews and hiring of employees.
- Employment verification
- Do manual entry for all absences and disciplinary forms of employees. Alert managers of employees who are in danger of exceeding attendance policy. Assist in preparing warning notices and present to supervisor or manager.
- Kwantek ATS System. Hiring Employees – If needed assist in setting up interviews of potential employees and review openings. Assist in hiring employees utilizing the ATS System. Add new employees into Team program so they can clock in and out of their accounts.
- Check Voicemails
- Input absences and terminations
- Open and Close office, ensure all is locked down
- Prepare AM and PM report and email out
- Ensure employment open position sheets are up to date
- Ensure the proper employment ads are being run
- Coordinate and assist with recruitment efforts-job fairs, posting ads, flyers, etc.
- Daily Filing
- Pull files for disciplinary
- File Termination paperwork
- File all needed documentation for disciplinary actions
- File and create employee files for new hire paperwork
- File vacation/absence forms
- File property cards
- Return phone calls—make notes on pertinent calls and correspondence
- Disciplinary Actions
- Inform HR Manager of all actions that require decisions on corrective actions
- Copy HR Manager on any Operations Issues
- Assist managers when needed on any disciplinary forms
- New Hires:
- Track candidates in Kwantek
- Call candidates to set up interviews
- Interview candidates
- Complete necessary background checks
- Offer positions to best candidates
- E-Verify candidates within 48 hours of hiring
- Set-Up New Hires in WinTeam
- Have candidates complete all required new hire paperwork through Kwantek
- Inform Operations of new hire start dates and locations if needed
- Vacation/Absence Requests
- Fill out vacation/absence request forms
- Once vacation/absences are approved or denied by supervisor/manager inform the employee
- Track absences/vacations on vacation calendar
- Additional Responsibilitie
- Assist payroll and accountant with any items they request of HR.
- Assist with implementation of Safety Training Program
- Assist with implementation of Spartan CleanCheck Training Program
