The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Human Resources department in various administrative functions and will have a basic understanding of human resource practices and principles. This part-time (25 hours per week) hourly position reports to the Director of Human Resources.
Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including filing, invoicing, and data entry.
- Assist employees with HR-related inquiries and provide information on available resources.
- Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Prepare HR-related reports, assist in audits, and gather documents for grants as needed.
- Recruitment support by assisting in the coordination of recruitment activities, including posting jobs, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing orientation materials and ensuring completion of required paperwork.
- Assist in annual staff training and gathering updated certifications.
- Assist with scheduling language skill testing.
- Assist in organizing HR-related events, training sessions, and employee engagement activities.
- Works with a multicultural perspective of inclusion and diversity.
- Other duties and projects as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
- Degree in business administration, Human Resources, or related field and/or a combination of education and experience.
- 2 + years of proven experience in an administrative role in an HR setting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
- Information gathering and monitoring.
- Calendaring and organizing.
- Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks.
- Understanding of HR principles, practices, and confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to model the organization’s values (compassion, collaboration, trust, accountability, and equity) in personal behavior and HR operations.
