Salary range contains multiple steps. In most cases, the salary will be set at the starting point of the range for the grade level selected.
GS-5: $39,375 to
$51,193
GS-6: $43,894 to $57,058
GS-7: $48,776 to $63,408
This position is also being announced to All U.S. Citizens and Nationals under 23-OHN-11914910-DE.Qualifications: GS-5: To be eligible at the GS-5 level, you must have: at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level; or four years of education above the high school level; or a combination of both specialized experience and education as explained below.
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as applying standard rules, procedures and operations to provide administrative support, using automated office systems to manage data including but not limited to receiving data and retrieving data; reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness, reconciling errors, constructing and managing files and data logs; receiving, initiating, reviewing and processing personnel actions for accuracy, errors, missing information and discrepancies.
Combined Education and Experience: Successfully completed post-high school education may be used to meet the total one year of specialized experience requirement equivalent to the GS-4 grade level. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
GS-6: To be eligible at the GS-6 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in Federal service as defined below.
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as reviewing Human Resources documents for completeness, obtaining additional information as required, and researching, identifying and providing technical assistance to team members on a variety of Human Resources functions such as staffing and recruitment, benefits, and classification (such as but not limited to assisting with vacancy announcements, responding to inquiries concerning vacancy announcement, providing information on life and / or health insurance, providing information on personal leave , assistance on obtaining copies of position descriptions); using different Human Resources automated systems to process personnel actions.
GS-7: To qualify at the GS-7 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level in Federal service.
Specialized Experience: is defined as processing complex personnel actions; processing time and attendance for employees; providing information pertaining to a variety of complex Human Resources matters; handling pre-employment processing and on-boarding; reviewing documents for completeness and obtaining additional information as required; establishing and maintaining a variety of personnel files. Requires knowledge of Human Resources regulations, principles, policies, rules, and terminology and experience in one or more specialties including: security processes, background investigations, and fingerprinting; staffing and recruitment; classification; personnel actions; performance management; and entering information into an automated system or database.
To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy.
