The Human Resources Assistant reports directly to the Human Resources/Office Manager. The primary role requires someone who enjoys working with people, is patient, tactful and approachable. Someone who is a team player, communicates well with others, is good at follow-through, can work independently, is a quick learner, can maintain a proper and professional level of confidentiality, strong interpersonal communication skills and good computer skills, especially Excel.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
· Monthly contact with new employees who are becoming eligible for benefits. Assists employees with navigating our employee portal.
· Answers frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to the HR Manager.
· Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
· Performs monthly audits of our benefit provider bills.
· Provides various support as assistant to the HR Manager.
· Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, life, and retirement plan providers.
· Assists with planning and execution of special events such as monthly birthdays, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
· Orders supplies and keeps items stocked throughout the property.
· Assists in updating our social media and creation of our newsletters.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
· Provides back-up and secondary coverage for the reception desk.
· Provides training as necessary.
· Manages Company clothing inventory, assists with inventory ordering, monitors our one-year program.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
· Team player.
· Previous experience in an HR department with knowledge of terms, annual filings and procedures preferred.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
