Working Schedule: Monday - Friday, 25-40 hours/week during business hours
Location: Dent Tower, Amherst, NY
Responsibilities of Position
- Monitors the central HR email inbox, answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc., and refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management
- Completes change forms and related tasks, communicates appropriate updates to employees in conjunction with change forms, and processes separations
- Supports the leaves of absence process by issuing request forms, compiling packets, and assisting with leave meetings as needed
- Conducts or assists with new hire tasks including preparation of binders, policy assignments, security badges, serving as a backup for HR orientation, and assigning parking tags
- May assist with payroll functions including reports and participation in bi-weekly pre-payroll meeting
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
- Provides general clerical and administrative support to the HR department
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, wellness activities, and more
- Will occasionally serve as a backup to cover PTO for recruiting and other general HR tasks
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations objectively with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (Excel or spreadsheet knowledge helpful)
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS) and similar computer applications.
Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree in related field preferred
- Prior related office experience required
Working Conditions
- Normal working environment, typical of most office settings.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Requires some lifting usually not in excess of 30 pounds
- Regular fine hand manipulation
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities

Travel
- Travel possible between Dent Neurologic Institute sites, conferences, job fairs, and/or events
Compensation:
- Most candidates will start within the first quartile of the pay range
- Rates are commensurate with experience
