Position Summary:
Under general supervision, but following established policies and procedures, is responsible for a variety of Human Resources functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Prepares and administers the training program through ABA. Maintains various spreadsheets to track Human Resources statistics and information regarding FTEs, training, teller turnover, and affirmative action.
· Prepares monthly and bimonthly reports for management and employees, such as the termination/new hire report and training report.
· Reviews monthly invoices for advertising and for education costs.
· Prepares and distributes quarterly employee newsletter. Also administers and coordinates the Employee Wellness programs.
· Assists with duties related to the hiring function, such as posting open positions, monitoring the job posting procedures, placing job advertisements in the newspaper and with local colleges/universities, the Internet, and the Department of Labor; reviews resumes and applications for open positions; screens and recruits’ applicants for open positions following EEO guidelines; performs background checks on selected applicants. Prepares offer letters, orientation packets.
· Performs payroll administration as a backup to the HR Generalist and 401(k) submission.
· Answers routine questions from employees on such matters as benefits coverage, employee policies and procedures, and follows up on any necessary actions or changes.
· Maintains personnel records such as employee files, applications, and applicant flow data; responds to requests for employment verification for active and terminated employees.
· Composes and distributes correspondence, confidential and general, to employees and managers.
· In conjunction with the HR Generalist, maintains the HRIS database.
· Assists with benefits and 401(k)/Profit Sharing along with the distribution process of the 401(k). Sets up and maintains records for payroll deferrals.
· Assists in the development and coordination of department activities, such as the annual celebration and Employee Appreciation Day.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Skills:
· General knowledge of Human Resources related laws and regulations.
· Ability to learn personnel policies, procedures, and benefits specific to the bank in order to explain the process to appropriate individuals.
· A high level of interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, applicants, and the general public. Must be very organized and detail oriented.
· Ability to compose general correspondence and create forms to be used throughout the bank.
· Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is required.
· Ability to problem-solve, follow procedures, and work independently.
· Above-average organizational skills.
· Related college courses or degree a plus!
