Job Description
Brethren Mutual Insurance Company, located in Hagerstown MD, is seeking to add a dynamic, customer service oriented, confidential Human Resources/Executive Assistant to its staff. The Human Resources/Executive Assistant will provide high-level administrative support to the AVP of Human Resources, President/CEO, and other senior staff, as needed. This position is an in-office position, reporting to the AVP of Human Resources.
Essential Duties:
- Provides high-level administrative support and assistance to the President/CEO, AVP of Human Resources, and other assigned leadership staff.
- Performs clerical and administrative tasks including drafting letters, company presentations, invoices, reports, and other documents for senior staff.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of Human Resource files and records.
- Answers frequently asked questions from employees and applicants relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to AVP of Human Resources.
- Serves as back up to payroll, benefits enrollment, and new employee orientation in the absence of the AVP of Human Resources.
- Arranges travel and accommodations for executives.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by executives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Extensive knowledge of office administration, clerical procedures, and recordkeeping systems.
- Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred.
- At least four years of Human Resources and or Executive Assistant experience required.
