Position Responsibilities:
- Complete all aspects of the new hire transaction process in our HRIS and timekeeping system;
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
- Heavy phone and electronic communication with potential new hires to exchange information and troubleshoot access issues.
- Create and maintain employee records in HRIS and timekeeping software related to hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
- Conduct or assist with new hire orientation.
- Maintain electronic and paper files for employees and HR department projects.
- Contribute to the creation and distribution of information provided to employees and candidates.
- Assist with planning events for employees such as company-wide meetings or celebrations; and
- Assist with other projects as a member of the Human Resources team, including cross-training to act in the role of others on the HR team during absences and times of overflow work.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in a Human Resources position in a multi-location employer, or a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to quickly form relationships with employees at all levels and with external parties; and
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Knowledge of hiring practices and related compliance requirements (I-9s, EEO, ADA, DOL, etc.) either through formal education or experience.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
- Exceptional ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the work.
