Job Summary:
Responsible for developing, presenting, and coordinating leadership development programs. Partners with management and HR business partners to analyze and assess individual, departmental, and/or organizational training and development needs. To coordinate, design, deliver, and track specified training programs. To interact with customers and management to optimize service and communication.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in business, education, psychology or related field and five years of corporate training experience which includes human resources, employee, manager and leadership development. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of training methodologies and techniques suitable for different adult learning styles. Knowledge of instructional design theory and group facilitation, along with familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools and techniques. Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures. Knowledge of health care - health system administration and academic medical center knowledge preferred. Strong effective verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills, effective consulting and relationship building skills. Strong project management and analytical skills. Ability to gather information, identify problems and draw logical conclusions; organizational skills, ability to demonstrate results in developing and delivering effective programs, determine training objectives. Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate training plans, curricula, and methodology. Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative working relationships. Strong facilitation skills. Ability to work independently with multiple stakeholders at different levels in the organization. A track record of autonomy, leadership and initiative. Decisive decision-maker. Ability to be candid. Honest, ethical, straightforward and act with integrity. Demonstrate competency with usage of learning management systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Gathers, analyzes and assesses data to determine leadership development needs. Delivers and/or coordinates the delivery of learning and instruction covering specified areas. Data may be from a variety of sources.
  • Selects, designs, develops, and revises course curriculum, lesson plans, brochures, and/or training aids. Manages and facilitates organizational development leadership activities to include classes, guest instructors, training, seminars, and/or other special projects.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of organizational development programs through the use of feedback, surveys, tests, and other measurements. Recommends changes in instructional objectives and methods.
  • Develops an extensive knowledge of and a working relationship with different departments within UMMC in order to further the healthcare system objectives.
  • Gathers information from a variety of sources to determine if management services meet customer expectations. Documents customer needs and expectations, informs management, and facilitates the resolution of customer complaints.
  • Ensures that transparency is an organizational value through the dissemination of relevant information to internal stakeholders and the promotion of effective two-way communication. Maintains relevant files, records, and reports.
  • Collaborates and builds relationships with internal subject matter experts and uses their organizational skills and talents in order to further advance the leadership development programs and healthcare system objectives.
  • Provides support and guidance to up-line managers in the development of individual manager development plans. Coaching and mentoring may be needed.
  • Directs and manages programs for newly hired or promoted supervisors, managers, directors, and other leaders with performance management responsibility.
  • Designs, develops, implements, and maintains a robust succession development program which targets high potential leaders and transitions them into a 'ready now' status on the succession plan.
