L&E is a leading actuarial consulting firm with over 50 actuaries nationwide and a largely remote yet "high talent" workforce. We've been providing expert services in life, health, and property & casualty insurance since 1968. With a global reach and a commitment to innovation, we deliver tailored solutions for complex financial, risk, and actuarial challenges.

Base Salary: $80,000 - $125,000 per year, reflective of the experience and capabilities you bring to the table.

You Will Handle All HR Responsibilities and Initiatives:

Priority Responsibilities

· Benefits and Retirement Plan Management, including but not limited to:

· Handle, possibly via outsourcing, (a) non-discrimination testing and filings for HR-related benefit plans and (b) HR-related audits and ensure compliance with retirement plan testing, auditing, and filing.

· Evaluate and recommend improvements to the benefits package that balances company's financial goals with need to remain competitive in the talent market.

· Payroll and State Tax Compliance (e.g., ensure timely and accurate registration and filing of payroll taxes on a quarterly and annual basis.)

· Federal & State Employment Law & Regulation Compliance, including but not limited to:

· Manage HR-related compliance filings and send out required notices.

· Manage the company's Affirmative Action Plan and ensure compliance with OFCCP requirements.

· Hiring, Onboarding, and Terminations

· Employee Relations and Engagement, including but not limited to:

· Establish and maintain positive employee relations through effective communication and conflict resolution.

· Work with management to develop & implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and job satisfaction.

· HRIS Records Management

· Workplace Issue Resolution, including but not limited to:

· Help management apply policies fairly and consistently.

· Anticipate and help resolve litigation risks.


Secondary Responsibilities

· Training and Policy Development, including:

· Further development of online training systems.

· Facilitate Federal and State-required training to employees.

· Monitor adherence to internal policies and legal standards.

· Develop and update HR policies and procedures to reflect changes in legislation and industry cost-effective standards.

· Performance Management, including process development/revision, manager/employee coaching, performance appraisal processes, etc.

· Management Reporting

· Report to senior management by analyzing data and using HR metrics/KPIs.

· Prepare requested reports for executive leadership (e.g. HR trends, challenges, and accomplishments)

· Assisting with Request for Proposals (RFPs) by providing HR related information


Essential Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business.

· At least five years of experience in HR, including a minimum of two years in a leadership role.

· In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations and employee benefits.

· Expertise in payroll and benefits administration.

· Ability to work independently with proactive problem-solving skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems, particularly ISolved.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on confidentiality.

· Proven ability in handling employee relations, including confidential investigations and conflict resolution.
