Position Overview
The Human Resources Manager will guide the day-to-day operations of multisite HR functions, ensuring HR practices provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture. The HR Manager will oversee payroll, perform employee relations functions, coordinate benefits and other services, facilitate recruitment and onboarding/offboarding, and supervise assigned staff (currently an administrative assistant and payroll specialist).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Establish and maintain healthy and positive working relationships with all staff; demonstrate extreme discretion and confidentiality; remain visible, engaged, and interactive with team and management.
• Educate staff and job applicants on benefits programs and HR services.
• Interpret HR & other company policies and procedures and recommend changes as appropriate.
• Perform a variety of employee relations and affirmative action-related activities and responsibilities.
• Strengthen the employer-employee relationship; identify and resolve workplace issues, measure employee satisfaction, and provide support and input to the performance evaluation program.
• Coordinate and conduct supervisory training alongside executive leaders.
• Partner with the VP, CEO, and employment attorney on legal employment matters.
• Assist managers and supervisors with employee rosters and other HR reports/tools.
• Supervise the administrative assistant and payroll specialist, who may work in a different branch location.
• Implement and administer the Employee Wellness Program in all locations.
• Coordinate staff meetings and provide direction for employee engagement initiatives, such as birthdays, work anniversaries, etc.
• Manage the onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Collaborate closely with the third-party benefits vendor for open enrollment, participant updates, and issue resolution.
• Facilitate and steer recruitment efforts.
• Report job-related incidents and act as liaison between employees and workers’ compensation adjuster(s).
• Maintain and update HR documents.
• Assist with research, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources with proven practical experience, OR 4+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• SHRM- CP, SHRM-SCP SPHR or PHR designation preferred.
• Previous management experience is not required, yet candidates must have strong HR generalist knowledge with leadership abilities to be qualified for the role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent organization, time-management, and task-management skills to maneuver in a fast-paced, diverse, and geographically dispersed environment.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, and strong ethical character capable of handling confidential information.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license: ability to travel (mostly day trips to other SC-based branch locations, approximately one or two days per week)
• Authorization to work for any employer in the US without current or future sponsorship.
