Summary: The Human Resources Generalist performs the day-to-day tasks of the Human Resource department and manages the administration of human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, data integrity, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, and employment.

- Assist employees at Day Wireless Systems & Reliance Connects in HR matters – employee relations, benefits and policies and procedures.
- Administer benefit programs by: conducting benefits orientation, reconciling invoices, advising employees; resolving issues; maintains an ongoing positive relationship with broker and TPA’s; analyze and report trends and costs, conduct periodic audits of benefits programs, provide and post pertinent benefit material and updates.
- Prepare, recommend and maintain records and procedure for initiating and managing personnel transaction and documenting and securing personnel data.
- Track family medical leaves per federal and state laws, as well as other leaves of absence, as requested.
- Develop and conduct training for Managers/Supervisors for all HR processes. (such as evaluations and reviews)
- Responds to unemployment claims, processes claims, and participate in hearings.
- Investigates and performs fact finding of employee relations issues such as disciplinary actions, personal conflicts, performance, compliance with company policy, company procedures, and federal and/or state law.
- Advises employees and management in company and department policy and procedures as well as applicable federal and state laws.
- Assists Manager of HR or HR Dept. co-workers with projects, reports, correspondence, and other activities as requested.
- Acts as back up Manager of HR or back up recruiter (composes offer letters, conducts new hire orientations, and places job postings).
- Completes medium to large-size HR-related projects
- Handle employee relations counseling
- Other duties as may be assigned.

- Occasional lifting/transporting boxes and other office materials
- Occasional local travel (Portland-area)
Education and/or Experience:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in business administration, management, human resources, psychology or a closely related field; and at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in the delivery of human resources services; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Experience in AS400 Software a plus
Licenses, Certifications:
- A Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or a Senior PHR certification is preferred.
- A valid state driver’s license will be required when driving company vehicles for assignments.
