Position: HR Generalist I
Department: Human Resources
Hours: Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:00pm PST
Pay: $23.00-$25.00/hr DOE
Location 5428 Bierson Way, Central Point, OR, 97502 with training period located at 20260 Williams Hwy, Williams, OR, 97544
Summary: The Human Resources Generalist I position supports the Director of Human Resources and the plant manager in a wide range of human resources topics at our Central Point Site. This role will be responsible for the successful onboarding of new employees, maintaining attendance records and serves as a resource for questions on HR-related topics. This role integrates elements of the Herb Pharm culture in all materials and interactions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Onboard employees in tune with HP culture and ensure compliance with federal and state law and company standards
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics and resolve any issues that may arise
- Conduct employee Investigations in cooperation with department leadership and Director of HR
- Manage employee coaching and discipline in coordination with department leadership and Director of HR
- Listen to employee complaints and seek solutions
- Audit new hire data entry to ensure correct and complete records
- Scan employee files and other documents into electronic filing system
- Track employee attendance, update points records in HRIS, and send attendance reports to managers
- Assist HR team with the coordination of special events such as snack day, meetings, parties, etc. (as needed)
- Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices
- Conduct exit interviews and collate all data for SLT team review quarterly
- Lead the effort to develop and implement communication strategies
- Organize employee engagement strategies
- General admin duties
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Well-versed in employee relations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong empathy and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- General understanding of labor law and employment equity regulations
- Strong knowledge of HR functions and best practices
- Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Flexible and able to switch gears as needed
- Able to prioritize, organize and work efficiently with little supervision
- Bilingual Spanish-speaking preferred
- Assist with efficient team operation and continuous process improvement, by participating actively in all team and departmental meetings as requested
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, social sciences, human resources management, or three (3) years experience in human resources and/or human resources training; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Technical Requirements
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office
- Experience with HRIS systems is preferred
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to quickly organize and communicate thoughts, and to understand communications from others. Ability to maintain composure, listen, and respond appropriately.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form..
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business and labor law information.
Ability to articulate and present ideas and solutions to various level teams or individuals. Strong attention to detail with solid knowledge of grammar and punctuation and the ability to proofread accurately and consistently.
