HR Generalist

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join an outstanding company in Syracuse, NY. The HR Generalist will support the Human Resources function with a focus on recruiting, new employee onboarding, employee relations, and administrative duties associated with the HR function. 

This company is well-established and stable and provides a great team environment with room for advancement within the business. A comprehensive compensation and benefits package is offered, with a salary range of $55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle recruiting processes, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring
• Coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation processes
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefit laws and regulations
• Address employee relations issues in a timely and professional manner
• Handle worker compensation and disability claims
• Conduct open enrollment for benefit programs
• Update the employee handbook as necessary
• Lead special projects as assigned
• Ensure a diverse and inclusive workplace

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in HR from an accredited college
• Minimum of 3-5+ years of human resources experience
• Strong problem analysis/resolution skills
• Proven ability to work well within a team environment
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Experience in a union environment is a plus, but not required
• SHRM-CP/PHR desired
